Q: QuestionDoes this stackable washer and dryer run on 110 volt?(4 answers)
A: AnswerHi Krnhny13- Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. Electric models should be connected to a dedicated 240V or 208V 30-amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. The 240/208V will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. The power cord should be purchased separately. Thanks for choosing GE! - A: AnswerHi HerbK- On GUD27 unitized washer/dryer units, the dryer is deeper in the rear than the washer. The overhang is 4" past the back panel of the washer, which means it sticks out past the vent, electrical, and plumbing connections. The dryer can sit up against a wall without adding any extra depth to the unit. This provides space for the connections in the rear. Because of this overhang, the unit does not need knockouts to vent to the left or right side. The vent elbow can be turned left, right, or down as needed. We suggest to view the Installation Instructions for dimensions and details (See 27” NOMINAL PRODUCT DIMENSIONS page 2) : http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-16781-1.pdf - Keep in touch! - A: AnswerHi Jaye - Many top-load washers have a "traditional" agitator. It has spiral fins that turn through the water during the wash cycle. This action moves the water, which in turn moves the clothes down against the agitator into the water and up the sides of the washer. The slow movement is normal and gentle on clothes. You can view a video of the normal sound you may hear during agitation: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=36011 - Thanks for choosing GE. - A: AnswerHi there, thanks for leaving a question! There is no end of cycle signal for the washer or the dryer, we're sorry about that! We appreciate your feedback though, we're always looking for ways to improve. If you'd like you can take a look at an article on our website titled "WASHER - UNITIZED WASHER NORMAL SOUNDS" to see if it helps to clear things up. Hope you're staying safe. -Michael@GEA

The dryer can sit up against a wall without adding any extra depth to the unit. This provides space for the connections in the rear. Q: QuestionWhat is the material of the drum? (The description just says "Other".)(2 answers)
A: AnswerHi Bargainseeker23- The washer basket is stainless steel. The dryer drum is DuraDrum which is a galvanized steel drum that is double coated with tough polyester paint and backed with a stainless steel rear. The drum is white in color, with the shine, smoothness, and durability of stainless steel in the back of the drum. Thanks for viewing GE. Keep in touch! SUE@GEAAnswered by GE Answers

Small laundry room solution
After re-designing our laundry area, we ended up with a small room for washer/dryer/utility sink. We had front-loaders and decided to go stacked, but stacked front loaders still took up too much space so we went with the Laundry Center. Love it. It's 3.8cu ft vs about 4.5 with front loaders...no big deal. It handled queen comforter. It is a little loud is my only issue. The dryer is fantastic. The cycles of both machines are about the same amount of time, so you can just keep adding loads without much waiting for the dry to open up. Love it.

One piece stackable washer and dryer
Works well for small space, just can’t load a lot of clothes but for me it works, I do my dirty clothes as soon I take them off.

Sturdy, spacious, some quirks...
This is a sturdy & large-volume unit, and it's nice to have a color option other than basic white for people who only have one 220 outlet and a compact laundry space. The washer spin cycle seems especially long, while the dryer cycles are fast and efficient. I can already think of a few improvements: The installers mentioned that some laundry centers allow the venting duct to project from the side, in order to maximize the available space behind the unit. Because this model only allows for it to go straight out the back, it was very hard to fit into our compact condo space... and the duct has already come loose as a result. Why can't manufacturers of these units create an accessory that allows for a tight-space option to the usual large venting duct? Second, the control dial for the dryer cycles is very tight... unnecessarily so. It feels like it's not going to last very long, because it doesn't turn smoothly and easily. I was surprised that it isn't better crafted, with "clicks" to move easily to each cycle. It feels like we have to fight with it to turn it to our preferred selection. Very odd. Finally, the washer makes some odd noises while in the fill cycle. And some of the finish work on the interior plastic pieces could be better - a lot of sharp edges were left on the top of the agitator.
