“I just finished a load in my washer and it smells like it is burning. I have had it for less then a year so I don't think it should have this issue. How do I check to see what is wrong with it?”

We truly appreciate your patience and are very sorry to hear of the issues you are having with a burning odor from your washer. We can imagine that this would be a stressful experience for you and are happy to help! A burning smell coming from a fairly new washer could be caused by the inlet hoses. Sometimes new inlet hoses put off a strong rubber odor that can be mistaken for a burning smell. To determine if the odor is coming from the inlet hoses, start the washer so that it fills with hot water and stop the washer before it starts to agitate. If you can smell the burning rubber from only the fill cycle (no motor or pump running) before it even starts to agitate, the problem is just the hoses. This is normal and will fade over time. However, you do not smell the odor from the fill cycle, we would recommend that you take advantage of your warranty and have a qualified service technician properly diagnose the issue.
