Hi there! We're happy to hear from you and would love to share more about this laundry center. The exhaust can be directed upward towards the ceiling. We suggest keeping the recommended venting lengths on page 13 of the manual in mind. Venting upwards will also prevent the appliance from being pushed back against the wall so extra room will be needed when considering the depth.
