- Answer Hi there, We are finding that this model is not ductless. However, you can make the unit recirculating rather than externally vented if you would prefer. Take a look at pg. 8 of this unit's installation instructions, you should see steps on how to make the unit recirculating. QuestionCan the lights be easily changed if they burn out? Or does a technician need to replace them?

- Answer We've used the lights as a nightlight in the kitchen for fifteen months now and they're still working perfectly. It's easy to change them out when needed and can be found at your local hardware store.

QuestionWe just removed an under mount microwave and the cabinets above to make room for a hood vent. There is a 10” opening for venting from the previous microwave vent. What is the width of the vertical casing above the vent that runs to the ceiling?

Yes, this hood can work with a gas range, however, we recommend checking the range installation instructions to verify the CFM's on this hood are sufficient. The charcoal filter is part #JXCF72. - Answer Hi-this is Sue from GE. Thanks for your interest! This hood is designed to be vented vertically through the ceiling. Use a 6" round duct. Use locally supplied elbows to vent horizontally through the rear wall. Or, a recirculation duct (included) and two charcoal filters (not included-JXCF72) are necessary for recirculation installation. Thanks for checking with us!

QuestionRemodeling our kitchen. We have close to 4 ft from stove top to ceiling. We are not venting to the outside. What would the hood look like with 4 ft of clearance to ceiling? I want it to be close to ceiling with appearance of venting outside.

- Answer Hello- Thanks for your interest in our 30" Convertible Range Hood. This is a really beautiful hood! The installation height should be measured from the cooking surface to the lowest part of the hood. This hood must be installed onto a wall. It can either be vented to the outdoors, or it can be installed for recirculating operation. The hood would look unfinished if you left a 4 foot space to the ceiling. We recommend getting the duct cover. It can be adjusted for ceilings between 7' 3/4" and 9' depending on the distance between the bottom of the hood and the cooktop. This pyramid style vent hood includes duct covers that are adjustable and will fit ceiling heights from 7' 3/4" - 9' depending on the distance between the bottom of the hood and the cooktop as described on Page 6 of the Installation Instructions.
