This GE ventilation system has easy-access controls on the front of the unit for quick adjustments.
A: The owners manual says that it needs a charcoal filter for recirculation installation. I have only used mine a few times and it still kind of works without the filter. I wouldn’t recommend cooking anything that would let off too much steam or smoke without the filter though.
Q: I need a plug kit. Could anyone tell me which one to get, please?
A: Hi Kate - Thanks for choosing GE® 30" Under The Cabinet Hood JVX3300EJES! GE® Cord Kit JXHC1 is sold separately. It can be purchased online at GEApplianceparts.com. View Range Hood Installation Video: https://www.youtube.com/embed/nrqTMMN9feA?rel=0 - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A: Hi grandma- Thanks for your purchase! This hood offers convertible venting options- Select recirculating or external venting (Exhausts from the top or rear of the hood). This hood is designed to be vented vertically using a 7" round duct or a 3 1/4” x 10” rectangular duct or horizontally using a 3 1/4” x 10” rectangular duct. The damper/duct connector is included. The metal ductwork is not included. See page 13 of the Installation Instructions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-80783-4.pdf - Thanks for checking with us. Enjoy! SUEatGEA
Q: Which is recommended, recirculating or outside venting. Do you have to vent outside? Thanks
A: I’ve always had recirculating which works just fine. Unless you’re already vented for outside seems that would be a big project. Also the light on this unit shines more towards the front, so sometimes it is difficult to see the control panel on my range, which sits to the back
Q: How is the wiring installed? Can this be plugged into an appropriate outlet or must if be hardwired?
A: Hi there - Great question! This range hood can be hardwired or plugged in. If you're wanting to plug the unit in, you will have to purchase the power cord connection kit, model JXHC1. Thanks for checking! -Mikayla@GEA

Q: Is the black option a matte or shiny finish?
A: In between…what do they call it, sort of satin sheen?
