Had to buy thos model as it's the only one i could find that matched my appliances. Slate. The price was right so i bit. Installation was a breeze. The brackets fit onto the cabinets and the unit lined up perfectly. At 19 lbs, you may want a second set of hands. The wiring was simple, and had plenty of room to do the work. Baffle is included as is mounting hardware. Adapter for verticle vent is also included, i needed rear exhaust so i cannot say how well that works but it's definitely sturdy. The plastic block plate that you need to swap in to make it exhaust instead of recirculate is a weird fit when unit is already hung, so either do the swap prior to installation or just drop the shroud surrounding the fan and put it in then. It has tabs that it must be locked in or it is going to wobble and bleed air. The grease screens fit securely, and they supposedly can be machine washed, I'm not sure how confident i would be with the plastic tabs not breaking. The unit itself isn't exactly flimsy, but is subject to the vibrations caused by the fan. The lights definitely wiggle on the boost setting. Hopefully this won't affect bulb life. The lighting is halogen bulbs, so it gives a warm lighting effect. The bulbs have high and low setting. Both get darned hot. I would prefer a white LED both for light output and heat diminishing, but have not researched into what that would take at this point. The fan itself has 4 settings. Low, medium, high, and boost. I measured the noise with a phone app from about 2 feet away, basically where i stand to cook and they are as follows: Low-38 decibels. Medium-45 decibels. High-56 decibels. Boost-59 decibels. The suction power of the fan is superior to the 20 year old broan unit it's replacing. It definitely reduces smoke and cooking smells, so it is working well in that regard. As others have mentioned, the fan is positioned to the left side, so suction is focused there. Pros: •simple assembly •inexpensive •it works well Cons. •pretty loud •hot halogen lights In conclusion, I'm happy with the unit itself, but if i ever redo the kitchen, i will be upgrading to a different type of hood fan.

Spot welds along the top edges result in shallow but large indentations in the steel. That's only really noticeable when the light reflects off it, but it seems like a problem that shouldn't be there at all. See photo. The whole thing came with the standard plastic film to protect the metal. What was unexpected was the marks it left on the metal (see photo). That took a lot of cleaner and elbow grease to get rid of. Fan on left side works OK. I'm have it installed about 23" over the cook top, so it vents well from all the burners. I can see if you have it mounted a lot closer to the cooktop, you might have problems venting from the right side burners. As others mentioned, the halogen lights get hot. Not sure why anyone still uses those instead of LEDs these days. But that is what is in the description, so can't fault it for that. However, they don't light the cook top evenly - back burners are where I need more light, but they have much less than the front ones. Overall seems a little over priced considering welding and cleanup issues, plus it doesn't include charcoal filters

We have it installed as a ventless over a range. Even when it’s on high it doesn’t suction any air into the filters. As a matter of fact, it feels like the fan is blowing down not drawing air up. See the flame being blown when held up to the fan and the smoke not going up just staying around the napkin when held down by the cooktop. All recommendations for distance were followed. It’s worse when you put in the charcoal filter. Don’t waste your money, we’ll be buying a different one. The lights work well.
