A:AnswerHi there - Great question! This range hood can be hardwired or plugged in. If you're wanting to plug the unit in, you will have to purchase the power cord connection kit, model JXHC1. Thanks for checking! -Mikayla@GEA

A:AnswerWe always recommend disconnecting the power by flipping off the breaker and turning off the light switch. You'll remove the light cover, unscrew the light, counterclockwise to unlock the light and pull out. Replace the new light of the same type (standard incandescent), making sure the socket is properly inserted into the housing of the lamp holder. Please review page 8 in the manual for more details. You can find the manual on Best Buys site and on our GE Appliances site.
A:AnswerThere is some airflow through both filters, it’s just not precisely equal. This stye vent hood that uses a single centrifugal blower are offset to one side, and it is an industry standard practice to get better overall airflow. -Vikki@GEAppliances
A:AnswerWhile not completely equal, when operating normally, there will be airflow through both sides. We recommend checking that the ductwork is free of obstructions, the damper swings freely, and the filters are clean. You can find filter cleaning instructions on page 7 and installation information starting on page 9 of the manual. The manual is located at the bottom of the 'Features' tab on the Best Buy product page. We also recommend performing the tissue test to check for proper draw of the vent. You can find instructions for this in the article titled "Hood Vent System Draw" on the GE Appliances website.
A:Answersorry...unable to answer your question...I had to return the unit..nothing wrong with hood..the vent hole was to large for the venting wall space..it was 8" and I needed a 6"..I would contact GE to get info you need.....
A:AnswerBefore attempting to replace the lights, make sure that the light switch is turned off. Rotate light counterclockwise to unlock and pull out. Wearing latex gloves may offer a better grip. Replace with new light of same type, making sure pins are inserted properly into the sockets of the lamp holder and turn clockwise to lock. All lamps need to be GU10 compatible. For a helpful illustration, see page 8 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. Lauren@GEAppliances
A:AnswerThis vent hood can be installed under a 12" deep cabinet. If measuring from the bottom of the vent hood to the cooking surface, we recommend a maximum of 30" of clearance. We do not recommend replacing the halogen bulbs with LEDS. -Vikki@GEAppliances
A:AnswerStart with a 7" round duct take-off at top of hood. Remove the semi-round and also the rectangular piece next to it. Buy a 7" round duct take-off. Install with screws in existing holes or drill new ones. Be careful to not damage interior. Extend the 7" round duct to the outside (roof or side exterior wall). Install a roof jack or a side wall external damper cover with screen cover (to protect from varmints). Some variation may have to be made if connecting to an existing installation. Enjoy!
