QuestionI'm somewhat confused. Regarding the filters which i believe are Charcoal, are they washable in sink and or dishwasher? Had the impression they're not and have to replace every 3-6 months. If washable, do they last like mesh filters, or need to replace?

- Answer We are happy to help clarify the cleanability of your filters. The grease filters can be cleaned in hot soapy water and then rinsed and dried well. They can also be placed in your dishwasher if desired. It is important to clean them once a month to get the best performance. The charcoal filter that is for recirculation only should be replaced every 6 months unless it is noticeably dirty or discolored. This information can be found in your manual on page 7. If you need to view the manual, it can be found on Best Buys site on the product page at the bottom of the features tab.

QuestionI bought this hood because I believed it was 24 inches in height. Unfortunately anything taller than 24inches will not work for my kitchen. Can I cut and modify the duct cover from 26 inches to 22inches? Will this affect the performance?

- Answer Although we have not tested this, cutting the duct cover would not negatively impact the product. If a mistake is made when cutting the duct cover down a few inches, the warranty will not cover that damage. New holes will have to be drilled on the flange to attach it to the bracket. Also, make sure to install it at least 24” above the cooking surface, as identified in the installation instructions.

- Answer We can confirm that this range hood can be installed as recirculating, which does not require ventilation/ducting. For more information see the Installation Instructions starting on page 9 of the Owner’s Manual which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website.

- Answer We'd recommend checking with your cabinet company or paint company for the proper type of paint to use. The CFM rating on High is 260 and the recommended distance from the bottom of the hood to the cooking surface is 24" Min (required) to 30" Max. For additional information, please see the online Installation Instructions.

QuestionWhat Wattage bulb does this model need for replacement? This GU 10 style bulb comes in 35 and 50 watts. I followed the "push up and turn to the left" directions but the bulb broke off, leaving the base stuck in the socket, so can't read the wattage.

QuestionWhat is the actual height of this hood installed? It says 24 inches everywhere, but the installation manual says has 25 and 3/4 inches for the included cover PLUS 2 and 3/4 inches for the part with the controls. I hope this hood is 24" height in total.

The 24" height dimension is in fact the minimum installation height of this hood above a range or cooktop surface. The dimensions of the lower duct cover is 25 3/4" and the height of the hood controls is 2 3/4". The installation instructions are correct and outline any additional dimensions you may need depending on your ceiling height. We hope this clarifies the dimensions for you.
