Q: What is a convertible rangehood and what is a downdraft.
A: This range hood is designed to sit underneath the cabinet and the downdraft vents away smells.
Q: How loud is it? Sones? Decibels?
A: I just got this hood and I’m unsure of the decibels but it is relatively quiet compared to any that I’ve had in the past. Very satisfied with it and the look of it also.
A: The dimensions of the product are as follows: 20 x 5.5 x 35.875 inches.
Q: Is this vent hardwired or plug in? If hardwired can it be converted to plug in?

A: Hi Sarah - This hood can be vented vertically through upper cabinets then downward or horizontally through an outside wall then downward. Ductwork is not included. To maximize the ventilation performance of the vent system, minimize the duct run length and number of transitions and elbows. Not worth purchasing
Best Buy installed - beautiful unit however one of the 2 under mount lightbulbs stopped working. I touched the lightbulb and it fell out, it’s impossible to get it to stay on. This is a defect. I’m not happy with this purchase. The unit is very load when set on high.

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING!!!
This is a nice looking unit, and it works ok for what it is. I've been using it for a few weeks now. BUT I feel it is a very deceptively designed product. Shockingly so in fact. As you can see there are 2 wide grates on the underside of the hood. But there is only ONE fan in this unit, and it is way over on the left side, the right side is just for looks, and all the suction is on the left side. Smoke rising from below on the right side - it BARELY drifts up into the vent. Good strong suction on the left side. You can test it with a napkin - on the left side it will pull it up and hold the napkin against the grate with just the suction. Try it on the right side and the napkin just drops away. Hard to believe no one has commented on this major design flaw! Pull off the grates and look, there's just a big empty space on the right half. Unbelievable really. Its too bad because otherwise the unit is as it should be. I always have to be conscious to only cook smoky meals only on my left burners. This is in no way Best Buy's fault, but truly shameful product design from GE. If you like to cook, I'd suggest to keep shopping around!
