A: Yes: to a 10 ft. Ceiling. Hood adjusts for higher or lower installation and you should not need an additional extension as one is included. See picture. Yes: a low light feature can be used as a night light. See pictures. We love this very sleek hood!

The four fan speeds provide just the right amount of ventilation. Also, this high powered 610 CFM blower is adjustable downward to either 380 or 290 maximum CFM to accommodate different installation needs. We'd love to have you in the family. A: Although we have not tested this, cutting the duct cover would not negatively impact the product. If a mistake is made when cutting the duct cover down a few inches, the warranty will not cover that damage. New holes will have to be drilled on the flange to attach it to the bracket. Also, make sure to install it at least 24” above the cooking surface, as identified in the installation instructions.

Q: Does this model come with charcoal filters? Do I need a separate kit to make ductless?

The 24" height dimension is in fact the minimum installation height of this hood above a range or cooktop surface. The dimensions of the lower duct cover is 25 3/4" and the height of the hood controls is 2 3/4". The installation instructions are correct and outline any additional dimensions you may need depending on your ceiling height. We hope this clarifies the dimensions for you.
