It will work BEST for some cycles, WITH hot water, but I would imagine if you only wanted to connect it to two cold hoses you can. Some of the cycles are specifically designed with hot hot water in mind. Like the whites cycle or the sanitize cycle. So if you use cold water only on the sanitize cycle, even though you washed them on that cycle, they will not be sanitized. No matter what, you have to have a hose and water connected to both inlets. People have used Coldwater to wash clothes for a gazillion years.
