I hope you've received an answer by now, but... the Power button lights up as soon as I open the lid. So you don't need to press it again before you press the Start button. My Power button does not go dark when I close the lid after removing the clothing, so I press it again to make sure it's off. (I don't want any appliance drawing energy, running up my electricity bill, when it's not in use!)

When you open the lid, it automatically turns on but after 15 minutes it will cancel if it’s not being used and power off.  The other button is the start and pause.

You hit power to turn it on you set whatever you want the washer too then push play after it’s done the washer will tell you after you take it out and done washing you can turn it off or it will automatically turn off after a lil while
