The washer has a separate filter for the discharge line on the bottom right of the machine. The small panel comes off with a flathead screwdriver, then a plastic ramp folds down to expose the filter. The filter unscrews from the housing. Water will come out, but the plastic ramp will direct it toward the front, so have a small bucket ready. The filter is very course, so it traps large debris before it makes it down your discharge hose/drain. It’s recommended to clean out every year. I went 2 years as it’s just me and my wife so the duty cycle isn’t as much as a larger family with more laundry.
