Our new home has a laundry room with upper cabinets above the washer and dryer. This isn't an issue with the dryer as I'm not sure there are dryers which are top load. But it was a major issue with the washer, which is top load. And the washer/dryer combination we had really didn't good a very good job cleaning or drying our clothes. So off to BestBuy to see what has changed in front load washers since the last time we had one. The last time, we had one, the seal around the door got moldy and never dried out. This washer from GE is a major step up in front load technology. GE has built in a system they call UltraFresh Vent System with Microban Antimicrobial Technology. When you finish washing a load, you touch a button and the system runs to dry the seal and drum, so no mold or mildew can ever form. It's incredibly quiet, but it can run for a few hours, depending on the type of load you washed before turning it on. GE makes this machine in 4.8 cubic feet or 5 cubic feet. For the size of our laundry room, the 4.8 CuFt model was the best option for us. We can wash really large loads, so I'm not really sure if we would have found any benefit to the 5 CuFt model. The only other difference between the two models is the larger model has a large reservoir for liquid detergent, so you don't have to add laundry detergent each time you wash a load of clothes. Otherwise, this machine is quiet, does an amazing job of washing our clothes and with the UltraFresh Vent system ensures you won't ever get mold in the door seal as is so common with other front load washers. I have to say we're quite impressed with this washer from GE and expect to get years of use from it.

Excellent washer with very large capacity. Some reviews are pretty negative for this product which may not reflect on the actual product as it could be due to operator error or non-related product operations (ie delivery). The only thing I can possibly agree, is that the washer may be on the loud side when it is in the spin cycle, but still way more quiet than my previous. My only negative, it’s a little on the pricier side, but worth the purchase if it’s in your budget. Also these appliances are very large & tall, so if you stack them, you may find operating the top appliance might be out of your reach, if you are on the shorter side. My wife asked me to un-stack. To the best of my knowledge I purchased the matching dryer (GFD55ESSNOWW) and in my opinion the dryer door should have a metal ring to match the look of washer.

After an exaustive search for a washer and dryer I wanted to get a relabile american made washer and dryer. The Samsung and LG has great machines, but from what i read they are a nightmare to fix. I have american home sheild and there are very fiew repair companies that fix them. I cam from a kenmore set that worked great. There are a couple of features I really like. The washer can hold alot of cloaths. I have not had any issues, and it finishes each load with no issues. I love the mircoband rubber. I know that is a huge issue with front loaders. The spin cycle is amzing. Holey crap does it do a good job. When I do towels I have to peal them off the drum. As a result the towles dry fast! The vent features is nice. Its nice when you forget to leave the door open. The wifi control is great! I love getting the notifications on my phone when its done! Only con honestly is the cycles are kind of loud. And spin cycle is loud. But those are first world issues that I can live with LOL You will be very happy! Enjoy!

Im absolutely in LOVE with this Washer! I also have the matching dryer. My set is also on Pedestals I highly recommended on getting Pedestals saves your back from stooping. Also I was made aware that this dryer and washer are very very heavy have it installed makes life 110% better! It washes amazingly it has a more water option if you feel you might need it I use it on pillows. It's very efficient and is super quite for the most part washers are definitely a tad louder than dryers. I do have 3 cons- CON #1 it can be a bit odd sounding on start up like the drum needs to re align/ clear the pipes it kinda makes a weird grunting sound ill try to get a video up on Tik-Tok within the next 24 hrs. (4-2-22 or 4-3-22) @sweet.n.sassy, I will also feature the matching dryer as well if you wanna hear it. CON #2 Im not hundred percent sure that just cause it says its using the ultra fresh venting system that its actually working mine just beeps qt the vent area till.its done and then it shuts off but I do leave my door open/cracked when its not being used cause we all know front loaders can get a funky smell. CON #3 Some spin cyles start off a tad rough till it balances but Inalso think that can be fully normal so it dont bother me.

Surprised I bought a GE! I’ve always looked used Whirlpool and Maytag. The GE surprised me that it was spoken so highly of. Overall a good machine. Never realized my over priced Maytag wasn’t really cleaning my clothes well. After several loads in my new GE they felt fresher and cleaner. My only one complaint is that I was told by a repairman and small appliance seller that this machine was excellent at spinning out the load. My loads seem too heavy with water when thrown into the dryer even at the highest spin setting however they do dry well.

So far this washer has been working great. The only thing I've noticed is that it makes a pretty loud noise when it first starts up, but once it gets going it runs smoothly. Outside of that, no complaints. What I really appreciate is the smart connectivity. Being able to connect it to my phone and see exactly how much time is left in the cycle is super convenient. The notifications are a game changer too because now I actually know when the clothes are done instead of forgetting about them for hours. Overall, solid purchase.

I love the FreshVent feature. After years of wiping out the gasket of my previous front-loader to keep it from getting moldy and gross, I no longer have to worry about it. It is dry and clean for every use now. It also washes clothes well and has a very nice, large capacity. The app that links to the machine is a nice bonus, too. Getting a notification that my laundry is done comes in handy at times.

Great washer! Super quiet, easy to use. Clothes are spun well to making dryer time substantially less. I am enjoying this purchase a lot.

I absolutely love this machine. No vibration noise, easy to use and the ultrafresh vent system with odor block is an amazing feature... My previous washing machine was GE and I will never purchase another brand...

It’s very quiet and convenient. It measures your laundry to determine the amount of water to use. Just a turn of the dial and a very light touch of the start but it’s ready to go. I am still learning the machine. When I wash jeans, I just turn to the bulky section of the dial and my clothes washes quite nicely. And a detergent filler, so that you won’t put to much detergent in it. For me....it’s a huge change from the top loaders and all that knocking during the spin cycle when washing jeans.

This front low GE washer is absolutely amazing. It does take a few loads to get used to all the features on it. One of the ad bonuses there’s a button called ultra vent and it dries out your washer. I use that after every wash. I spent about five months investigating washers and I chose this one over all the other brands. The price was reasonable. The brand is fantastic. I know this will last me a long time. It is user-friendly. I did watch some YouTube videos to explain some of the features on it and it really helped me. It literally washes your clothes so good it makes them look brand new.

I love my new washer. Even on heavy soil level it is faster than my olde front loader. And the max spin! My clothes spend a lot less time in the dryer. I am just as excited with the ultra fresh vent system. No more having to leave the door open!

Does a good job but it’s loud on spin. If I had a laundry closet and not a room I think I would be annoyed. Loudness is probably due to the door not being flush (vent system and the ability to switch what side the door opens in), and that the washer doesn’t sit flush in the pedestal. That’s a bad flaw especially as much as the pedestal costs. The vent system is great! Washer is dry as a bone when it’s done.

Very efficient in smooth cleaning the clothe my wife love it, definitely a live saver.

I LOVE this washer. My clothes are cleaner than they were in my top loader. It is not overly loud and runs great. It has a fan to dry the door seal after use. It is made in the USA!

Love the capacity of this washer. Can easily fit a King size comforter or even King size pillow top mattress pad. Only reason my review loses a star is because the washer and dryer's white (color) don't match. Both are a form of white just not the same white.

Love this washer! I am one who always forget to transfer from washer to dryer! This washer connects to your phone letting you know your clothes are done and even gives you a reminder after 30 minutes. So mush room inside fits my king sized duvet.
