A:AnswerHello - You've asked a great question, and we're happy to help! The GFW550SPNDG washer is a belt and pulley driven system with no transmission. One belt runs from the motor for both agitating and spinning the tub. We hope this helps! Please reach out if you need anything. Best wishes. - Sharon@GEA
A:AnswerHello,
Good question! We'd like to thank you for choosing GE Appliances. It's a pleasure having your business and we're excited to help. We do not recommend stacking two different brands or models. Each stackable model has a corresponding washer/dryer. Not having the appropriate models stacked could cause your warranty to be nulled if the appliance is damaged. If you have any more concerns please let us know. Take care!

A:AnswerHello there! We appreciate your question. We found that the dimensions of your laundry room, if the units are not being stacks, would need to be 39 3/4" H x 56" W x 32" D. If you are wanting to stack the units, the dimensions would need to be 79 1/2" H x 28" W x 32" D. Since the units put side by side are 56", this may be a very tight fit in that space. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at our social pages. We hope this helps! Emily@GEA

A:AnswerI stacked the dryer on top of the washer with the optional stacking kit, and was able to push it into a closet. It was challenging, but I took my time and managed. Here’s a tip to make it easier. The documentation suggests using a 2x4 if the stacked pair needs to be “lifted” on to a drain pan. So I put a 1x6 piece of scrap wood, about 12” long under the front edge of the washer, and it tilts the pair on a slight angle so the rear feet are riding on it’s edge and not fully flat. The washer feet are made out of some type of rubberized material and is a big sticky. The documentation suggests spraying window cleaner on the floor to help with sliding the washer. I used a wet swiffer, but I’m not sure if it made any difference. Also, using the 1x6 helps to lift the washer just enough to adjust the front feet for leveling. When pulling the pair out, I use those orange straps for moving furniture. Just hook it around the front feet, and don’t forget the scrap wood.
A:AnswerHi Bob, thanks for your question! The new Ultrafresh washers and dryers are only meant to be stacked with each other; they have a unique stacking it. So you would not be able to stack a new Ultrafresh model with an older laundry unit. We hope this helps. Stay safe. -Michael@GEA

A:AnswerNo, you're simply buying a washer and a dryer. Everything else is extra. That means the air duct, washer power cord, the air duct for the dryer, and the stacking brackets are extra.
A:AnswerHello Lora, thank you for your question. Yes, the GFP1528SNWW is the only compatible pedestal for this washer. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. We hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions. You can reach out to us further at the “Contact Us” link on our website. – Chris@GEA
A:AnswerHi Lora, thanks for your question! When measuring with the leveling legs in the shortest position, the height from the floor to the bottom of the door is 9.75”. The door is 25" in diameter, so you can add another 12.5" to the height from the floor to bottom of door. (so 9.75" + 12.5"). We hope this helps! Stay safe. -Michael@GEA
A:AnswerHello there swarner,
Thank you for reaching out. This is a good question. Typically, most sheets will fit. As long as the sheet fits below the balance ring and isn't stuffed in the tub tightly. We hope this was helpful. Stay in touch! Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHi Rick, these are great questions that we're glad to answer. Yes, this is the last expensive front load washer that we currently manufacture. Also, the dimensions of this washer are 39 3/4 H x 28 W x 32 D. We hope this is helpful! We'd love to have you in our GE Appliances family. - Guy@GEA
A:AnswerHello Mikt800,
Thank you for reaching out. We'll be happy to answer your question. When reviewing the Installation Instructions for this washer, it shows the height of the washer with the legs fully extended - 40 5/8" and when fully retracted it is 39 3/4" tall. The difference is less than an inch. With the legs fully retracted the washer is just slightly off the floor. You would need no more clearance than it would take to get the wrench on the level leg to adjust them as needed. https://files.bbystatic.com/3%2FvTY6tIA8U6BkU58%2Bc4iA%3D%3D/e32b48d4-49f8-4dd2-a9a4-6fcad4429282.pdf. We hope this helps. All the best! Mike@GEA
