“Does this item need to work with a c By GE bulb? I have a small lamp i would like to use it with, but there are no C by GE bulbs with low enough wattage. Would I be able to connect this plug to the C by GE wifi switch?”

Yes. I use with a regular incandescent 40W bulb.

This device does not require a C by GE smart bulb and can be used as an on and off smart plug and controlled through the app, as long as the device that is plugged into it is turned on.
