yes. Add the Chromecast app to your mobile device and you can control the content on your tv from that device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am fairly new to Chromecast but from what I have seen the answer is no. You browse and select content on your phone/tablet/etc and select it from there. Once selected you can "cast" it to the tv using Chromecast. Just based on the question I would say you need to go to Bestbuy.com and search Tivo. The Chromecast is excellent for its intended purpose(displaying Netflix,Hulu, etc on your TV) but it is not a Tivo and will not do what you are looking for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, chromecast runs off your wireless router. Just make sure the device you are using is connected to the same network so you can cast YouTube from your phone or laptop
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. This is one of its main functions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its wifi only, it doesnt have an ethernet plug like my roku unit. I have a router that I use to get wifi thats the only way chromecast works.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Chromecast connects to WiFi only. You can set it up through your Google Chrome Web browser (must download chrome cast addon) or smartphone if you have one (chrome cast app).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When you plug this device into your television it will prompt you to select your wireless internet from the list of all available networks. Then you will put in your password and you will be connected to the internet!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can. You pair it just like Bluetooth then you see your phone screen on the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe you'll have to setup the equivalent of a wireless VLAN for your home first, and then once you have an SSID assigned to the WVLAN, you'll be able to do what you're suggesting in your question. This is the same thing you'd have to do if you wanted to setup your own little "cloud" for family sharable network storage, for example.
