• It is hardwired into your house wiring system for power. It has a battery for backup when electricity is out.

• There is a Lithium battery backup. If you have a wired you connect the black to black and the white to white wires. It you have multiple wired detectors in sync you ignore the orange or red wire. There are easy to follow directions in the app.
