Why did the price increase from $99 to $119? Has Nest recently added some new features or something? null

Nope, no new features, just a price jump. I think it's still second generation for the smoke detectors and third generation for the thermostat. I guess they figured their customer base is big enough now to where they can up the price and we will keep coming back to keep the house with a uniform brand.

Sorry I did not have the first one but you are right this one is more money then the first one that came out. I looked at the first one and don't remember if it had less features then the second gen. It might just be corporate greed

I think it was always 119, and you might have found it at 99 on a long promotion or something. Possible some stores wanted to eat rid of the 1st generation to make room for the 2nd generation and marked it down. I have 1 and 2nd and there is little difference that is ignorable. Buy with confidence.
