• While Nest leverages motion detected by Nest Protect and Nest Thermostat for Home/Away assist, the requirements for security and intrusion are more stringent in order to reduce false alarms. That’s the difference between detecting occupancy versus detecting intrusion. With intrusion we need to be more certain that it is a person in the room to avoid false alarms. Also, devices must be certified for security in order to sound the alarm.

• as far as I have seen the other devices do not report motion to the nest secure it would be nice,
