QuestionIf I understand it correctly, the base has to plug in to a power outlet and it's where the alarm coming out. If a killer is breaking in and the alarm goes off, the killer can locate the base and unplug the power to kill the alarm. It doesn't sound secure.

- Answer There is a wall cover for the plug that screws into the electrical box. But the cable to the detect can be removed. Note when this happens the battery kicks in. If and when monitoring by a third party is added, it will notify the monitoring station as well as the app. That's why they added the battery backup :)

- Answer You can add as many cameras as you'd like. The cameras record to the cloud, but you have to pay for this service. $100/year for 7 days of storage.

QuestionCan someone please confirm that it will take 30 second to trigger the alarm and there's no software or hardware can change the setting? I just find that hard to believe. Thanks.

- Answer The Nest Secure has a customizable range from 30 seconds to 5 minutes before the alarm will sound. Once a door or window is opened while in Home and Guarding or Away and Guarding, you’ll receive a heads up on the Nest Guard and the countdown will begin before the alarm goes off. - Answer If there wasn't a delay, the screeching alarm would go 9ff every time you open the door when system is armed. It give you time to get in the house and turn off the alarm.

- Answer While Nest leverages motion detected by Nest Protect and Nest Thermostat for Home/Away assist, the requirements for security and intrusion are more stringent in order to reduce false alarms. That’s the difference between detecting occupancy versus detecting intrusion. With intrusion we need to be more certain that it is a person in the room to avoid false alarms. Also, devices must be certified for security in order to sound the alarm.

- Answer Yes, but there is a setting you can select to downgrade how sensitive the motion detector is so your dogs likely won't activate the sensor.

- Answer well there's a couple of questions 1- there's no maximum cameras, - - - - - yes, if you subscribe to nest aware, is $100/yr for the first one and somewhere like $50/yr for any additional 2-no cameras are wireless. the detect is, no charge for it 3-so far no one, they're looking to include that service. no alarm that calls the police.

QuestionI have had this installed for 9 months, and now all of a sudden it looses WiFi. And will not let me log in either. So I had to create a new Home, and now it will not connect to WiFi, says having trouble updating, please try again later. Warranty?

- Answer Yes, you can add more of the Nest Detect magnetic/motion sensing sensors. Really easy to add them to your Nest account and set them up. They can be used as sensors to detect a door or window opening OR they can be used as motion detectors.

- Answer Without any subscription or professional monitoring, you'll get notifications to your Nest app on your phone for the following: Nest Cam Outdoor - when there is a motion or sound detection, camera is offline or removed, or a family member is added/removed. Nest Secure - when security alarm or panic alarm is sounding, there is a reminder to arm/disarm, or technical issues that need your attention (low battery, offline, etc.) You can also watch the live stream of the Nest Cam Outdoor and the recording of the last 3 hours.
