• No if you already have the hero 5 all you do is update all firmware including the Karma drone GoPro,and the controller pop the GoPro in and start flying.

• The drone by itself comes with a backpack carrying case, charger, removable gimbal, controller, stabilizer stick and mount attachment. Only downside is no protection plan through best buy. Extra coverage is available through the GoPro website
