• It does have a green light on when operating. Supposed to turn red when it's "ARMED" but I haven't been able to discover why mine doesn't do that. Mine always has a steady green light.

• yes it has IRs, which allow you to see in the dark, to a radius of about 10 or 15 feet out. clarity drops in the dark, as it does with any camera

• There is an auto function that will go into IR mode when light levels drop. They can also been turned on manually from your smart phone.
