Questioncan this run minecraft java addition since i'm only going to use it for that and for my newspaper club.

- Answer Out of the box, it will struggle. I currently have 8gb of ram in mine and tested it out. Does a decent job, but eats up 5gb of the ram. CPU was hitting at 70% usage with heat at 60c and GPU around the same. More ram will most likely help out for sure. Make sure to run lowest settings and you shouldn't have an issue. slight stuttering, but you will have to play with the in game video settings.

- Answer I am not with hp or best buy but do have 22yrs corporate IT and the specs say it has 2 slots that can handle 8G each for 16G.... that was a 14-dk1013dx right? If not please ignore this.

- Answer This one would work ok for Java, but you will need to switch the laptop out of S mode to install that software. This can be done in the settings for free. I would recommend getting a laptop that has an Intel i3 or AMD Ryzen 3 CPU.
