“Is the photo black cartridge required if I'm not printing photos? This printer meets my needs best even though I am not going to print photos. Will I need to purchase the black photo ink cartridge over time due to age of ink, or expiration dates? And related, if this cartridge or one of the other colors happens to go empty or expire, will I still be able to print text as long as there is (reg) black ink left?”
