“It appears this printer cannot be plugged into a surge protector? I currently have a Brothers printer (BW) that is in the same protector, no issues. Is this a common thing with any HP printers?”

We haven’t had any issues with our HP printers (including this one) being plugged into surge protectors. Ours is plugged into the Monster Power AV-725 surge protector
