That can't be known unless you try another monitor. Monitors, on the whole, don't fail suddenly. But your onboard graphics may have. The way to diagnose that is to try a graphics card. You are under warranty, so you should get a new box if the onboard graphics failed. If the monitor is bad, you need a new one - but not because of the computer- just because your monitor failed at this particular time.
