How big of a hard drive can it take null

There is no limit to the storage of this desktop. You do want it to be larger than what is currently installed. If you choose to upgrade the storage on this desktop, it will need to be in PCIe NVMe M.2 solid-state format. You do have an option to add another M.2 solid-state drive in the available M.2 slot.
