As far as I know (From AMDs website) the FX9800P supports up to DDR 2400Mhz, which is what I have in there now (16GB Kingston HyperX 16GB DDR 2400Mhz) BUT I did not check to see if the RAM is running at 2400Mhz, as RAM is backwards compatible, so 2400Mhz means it will run at all the DDR4 specified speeds up to 2400Mhz. So mine could be running slower.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This laptop has 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM. I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. After reading the manual, this HP laptop has two dimms that supports 2x dd4 1866mhz in dual channel or, single 1x ddr4 in 2133mhz. So it seems HP has skimped on the motherboard rendering their product useless in doing so! They should have allowed 2x 2133mhz, FYI only the fx 9830p can support 2400mhz. Looks like I'll have to wait another couple months and see what else comes out.
