• It's an amd fx 9800p. It's as powerful as an i7 6560u on the cpu side. Plus it uses the same power

• Good question. This laptop does not have an Intel processor. It has an AMD FX processor. It is a different brand. I hope this helps.

• If I understand what I was told, the AMD FX is the processor. It's made by a company other than the one that makes the i3, i5, and i7. It's faster than the i5 , but not as fast as the i7. There's more to it, but it started going over my head. The Best Buy staff can explain it a lot better.
