I like to use a mouse without the touch pad also. Just go into settings, look for touchpad, and turn it to off.

You can use an external mouse in which case you won't be using the touchpad, but no, it can not be fully disabled.

Thanks for the answers. I prefer to disable the touchpad when using a mouse so my hand doesn’t accidentally cause unwanted curser movements.

There is a setting that allows you to disable the touchpad when a mouse is connected (Settings -> Touchpad -> Leave Touchpad on when mouse is connected). I use it this way with a Bluetooth mouse.

just because the touchpad can or cannot be disabled doesnt mean using a mouse option is thrown out the window
