• I like to use a mouse without the touch pad also. Just go into settings, look for touchpad, and turn it to off.

• You can use an external mouse in which case you won't be using the touchpad, but no, it can not be fully disabled.

• Thanks for the answers. I prefer to disable the touchpad when using a mouse so my hand doesn’t accidentally cause unwanted curser movements.

• There is a setting that allows you to disable the touchpad when a mouse is connected (Settings -> Touchpad -> Leave Touchpad on when mouse is connected). I use it this way with a Bluetooth mouse.

• just because the touchpad can or cannot be disabled doesnt mean using a mouse option is thrown out the window
