I've only ever owned HP computers and laptops because they have never failed me. This laptop is so nice. I love the feel of it, it feels expensive. It is so thin and with the right weight to it. This laptop is super fast, it only takes a couple of seconds to be up and running. I like that it has a camera kill switch too. I also love the fact that you can flip it over and stand it up to watch movies and shows. This is also my first touch screen, it's great but weird after training myself not to touch the screen. The only mode I don't use is tablet mode, I just don't like feeling the keys resting on my hand as I hold it.

Good buy for a data analyst, not for deep learning

I would recommend this laptop for all the business analytics students out there, it looks classy, just get rid of the huge Hp stickers, it spoils the class of this machine. It's runs all the programing language smoothly. And Excel in touch screen with a stylist is so fun to use, you will forget your studying and start enjoying when pick up the stylus and start manipulating the spreadsheet. Battery life will last me almost a day, but it's recommended you carry your charger your class if you have more than three or more classes. I love this laptop till now, and waiting to see how long it will endure!

Locks up and freezes regularly like a plague. Sometimes it won't hard boot, so you end up sitting around waiting for the unit to die, then cross fingers that it will reboot after you plug it back in. Currently sitting here with my freezed up Envy x360...ir won't reboot, stuck on spinning dial of death, and I am annoyed that I can't do my grad school assignments. HP used to be my jam! Not anymore. We have two HP laptops like this, 1 new, 13" and this one (refurb), both from Best Buy & they both do this. The man of the house also happens to be an IT guy, so we aren't incapable of clearing problems with our equipment. Calling for a rubbish pickup.

I had to return the first laptop I took home because of a software problem... I think that is what geek squad said... The second laptop I took home works just fine. But for some reason the rotation lock is stuck, but that doesn't bother me. It works just fine.

I'll say up front that after a couple of weeks of use, I really like this machine. The two things that are most important to me (keyboard and display) are both equal to or above other machines that I tried. It has solid construction, good performance, decent battery life and nice form factor. I doubt I'll ever use it in tablet mode (it's a 2 in 1), but who knows. I am not a gamer, I'm a software developer and, as such, the lower video benchmark scores don't bother me. Overall, it performs more than adequately for my use. Now, the bad. Out of the box the configuration makes no sense. It comes with 40 GB of Optane and a 512 GB SSD. But the Optane is configured as the primary boot drive and has Windows, users, temp files and applications. When I unboxed it and got through the initial set up, I immediately got a notification that the C drive was critically low on space. There was no room left to install applications (I have lots). Windows updates or even temp files from web browsing would have quickly used up what little was left. Assuming that I had made a mistake with the initial set up, I called HP tech support and was told that 1) Yes, this the way it's supposed to be and 2) They do not support another configuration, but I could pay them $49.99 to help me change it. Flabbergasted, I decided to do it myself. So I did an image copy of the primary (Optane) to the SSD and changed the BIOS settings to boot the SSD. What I summarized in a sentence actually took a couple of days of searching and trial and error. It now works quite well running on the SSD. I may eventually try to figure out a way to use the (now useless) Optane, but it's not a priority. With the i7, 512 GB SSD, 8 GB ram and the suggested retail price of over $900 this is not a Chromebook and the configuration should have been better thought out. I really have no idea who the target user is. When I went shopping, this machine was on sale and I got an ever better deal on an open box model, so it was difficult to resist. I now understand why it was returned, however. In summary: If you are willing to put in a few hours up front, it is an excellent machine.

    Good computer for college

I purchased this computer a month ago for my freshman year of college. I like the touch screen and the battery life has always gotten me through the day. My only complaint would be one instance where I closed the lid and came back to it twenty minutes later and when I opened up I came to a unresponsive blue screen. I took it to the tech support on campus and they were able to fix it by taking out the battery and turning it on and off. I am not sure exactly why it happened but they had said it was not the first computer they had seen this semester with that problem, just that sometimes it can take in more than it can handle so it shuts down. Besides that, I am satisfied with my laptop and would recommend it to another student.

The computer is amazing. It is fast and lightweight, being almost portable. The battery has enough capacity to support a full afternoon of average work. The keyboard is very silent and has backlit. Excellent choice.

Really great for any student, because it has a lot of storage and the large touch screen is very useful for having multiple windows or applications open especially when writing those lab reports or long research papers. Although it is only 2 inches difference between this screen and a 13 inch it will make a difference in space and weight in your backpack if you need to take it around with you.

I absolutely love this computer. I waited a few months to review it just so I could use it a lot. It’s extremely fast & runs smoothly. The fingerprint scanner stopped working but I called HP support & they fixed it over the phone. I couldn’t be happier with my choice!

Good Points: It's fast. I love the touch screen. It's lightweight. I love the 360 aspect as well. Also, the storage space is adequate. Negative: The lettering on the keyboard is a little difficult for me to see unless the lighting is good. I did not notice this as a problem at the store but I find it an issue at the house.

The Envy line of laptops are really versatile. Very comfortable to use in laptop position or folded back as table. Touch screen works great. Powerful CPU and decent storage, we bought 128GB SD card to supplement on board storage. We also recommend you buy an Ethernet dongle as a back up for the WiFi since this model does not have an Ethernet port.

I purchased the HP ENVY 360 2-in1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop for my granddaughter for college. Best Buy had an awesome array of laptops to choose from and she picked this one. She loves the size, the capabilities, the clarity, keyboard and especially the price (for me). It's an all around great LP and suitable for her college needs.

First unit suffered what the geek squad called a Hard drive failure. Unfortunately, they claimed there was no way to wipe my financial information from the failed hard drive. Best buy did exchange the unit without a quibble. Much to my surprise the second unit failed in the same way. When I contacted HP about the issue they informed me of a BIOS update for that problem. The second computer is performing great starts fast and file access is at lightning speed. Thumbs up to the Envy, thumbs down to the Geek Squad. I would give the SSHD a little more time to settle in.

The HP Envy is a great laptop. It is fast and versatile since it transitions into a tablet. Every once in a while i have an issue with the finger reader, but it is usually when i haven't restarted it in a while. I would highly recommend this laptop for anyone to use.

I recently purchased one in store, with a 10% discount via Best Buy's birthday bonus. Even at regular price it's worth it. The specs on the sheet show it's fast, and touches like the fingerprint reader and privacy switch add value. For my use I did upgrade the memory from 8GB to 16 (the configuration sold has one 8GB module installed with one slot free). I wanted to look at a unit in store before purchase to evaluate the details not evident on the specifications page before purchase and I've been quite satisfied. The hinges are firm in any orientation and the case is solid with minimal flex. HP's "Sandblasted anodized finish" has a nice soft feel to the touch. A previous HP Envy I owned had an uncomfortably stiff clickpad but the one on this model is much better: responsive and easier to click on with a satisfying response. In the time I've used it I've had no complaints.

Love the large touch-screen. It lags a bit when multiple programs are open and has crashed a couple times. Good thing is my docs weren't lost so kept rating at 4 rather than 3 stars. Speed is above average and the speakers sound pretty good.

I recently purchased this laptop and it is more than amazing! It is very slick and professional looking. The download process for apps is extremely fast which everyone loves. Although it has many great features, my favorite feature on this laptop is the speaker quality. I listen to music very often and the speaker quality is wonderful for a laptop! Overall this was a wonderful purchase!
