• Yes you will need to install the HP officejet software with the printer or download the latest from product support to get all the features. Windows 10 people can install the Smart app from the windows store. Lastly, this printer works well with Linux distributions.

• The functions are the same (print, copy, scan and fax) and yes, it's compatible with Windows 7. The connection process will also be similar although you will need to download the drivers and set up the new printer on your network.
