The computer is pretty silent when conducting basic operations such as surfing and using office. The fan does not kick in. It only kicks on mine when I'm gaming or video editing. It's pretty much 95 percent of the time silent. I have chrome open now with 20 tabs and doesn't kick on. I think it has to do more with the gen 10 processor, fast nvme hd, and having tons of ram to play with.
