Perfect! (almost)

Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I was looking for a high powered 2-1 that provided "everything". Here's the breakdown: SCREEN: Amazing! Great blacks, super high res ( I cannot see pixels even up close). I was in the middle of watching a series when I got this laptop, and the difference was obvious. I wonder, though, if a 120 Hz screen would be the next step up. This is 60 Hz, and not sure if other laptops have 120 Hz. Watching fast action, and I'm being very picky here, I can notice a difference to my TV. Maybe something for HP to chew on in their pursuit of a "perfect" laptop. KEYBOARD: Sleek, modern, quality feel. SOUND: Rich sound. Only minor issue is occasionally get distortion. When I turn down the volume it goes away, but then it may be too quiet than what is desired. Not sure if my unit has some defect, but minus half a star for that. PEN: I'm new to the pen on a PC. It seems to just take some getting used and otherwise works well. Would have been nice if they provided some way to attach to the laptop (magnetic maybe?) or better yet store it with it like the Dell Inspiron 2-in-1. FAN/NOISE: Having an i7 and video card you expect heat and the need for cooling. But seriously, they did a stellar job here! Well exceeded my expectations. For non-gaming use I don't hear the fan or feel much heat at all, even on directly on my lap, it's very well designed! Compare this to the Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 with similar specs, well there's no comparison, this does an amazing job with cooling whereas the Dell has a built in tornado. DESIGN: This is a sharp looking piece of hardware. You see and feel quality design. Not like some other machines that try to look as boring as possible. Also, USB-C is great for an external dock. I use a Dell dock and it works great and also charges with the single wire. This a great option if you have too many peripherals. WEBCAM: Here's where HP let me down, big time. The camera stinks. It's all purple and pink. In daylight it's not as bad but very noticeable. See review picture with the pink shirt on the HP, and the true gray color of the shirt on a Samsung Tab-A. And in the evening forget it, it's pink / purple all over. HP could not help. Could not find any solution other than "that's the way it is." Really big downer and the main reason I lowered rating to 4 stars. For video conferencing, I'm just not using this webcam. I'll join on my iPad or iPhone, thank you very much. PERFORMANCE: We're very close to "instant" here. Turns on super quick, apps open and respond instantly. Have not noticed lag of any sort, it just works consistently fast. I use this 3D modeling and occasional video editing and same thing. Very happy with performance. Overall, this is laptop looks and performs beautifully. In the end, with the exception of the webcam, I'm extremely happy with it.

It is a perfect laptop
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have been using the laptop for the past week and a half ondaily basis. it is fast, well built, clear awesome display and charges from 10% to 100% in approximately 2.30 hours, and the battery will last approx 12 hours with medium usage like (surfing the internet and watching regular quality youtube videos) and will last more if you just use it for regular school work. Fan is not that loud, it will rarely kick in. Laptop stays cool most of the time. Highly responding touch pad. Keyboard has good key travel. I really enjoy using it. Hopefully it will last for a few years with this performance.

Amazing Laptop!

Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros: Sleek look, stellar performance, responsive touchscreen. Cons: My hard drive was a bit short (~460 GB instead of the advertised 512 GB). Overall, I love this laptop! It has a sleek and sophisticated look. The anodized aluminum finish with the rose gold trim looks gorgeous. I'm also thrilled to report that this laptop has more than just a pretty face. Performance wise, the laptop is excellent. I can easily record a podcast while having 20+ internet tabs open and my editing software running. So far, I haven't experienced any significant lag while running basic recording and editing software simultaneously. I've also experimented with games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey and The Witcher 3. The laptop runs the games at a similiar resolution as my PS4 slim, which was pleasant surprise. I'm also a big fan of the touchscreen and the stylus. Granted, the laptop is a bit too big to be used as a tablet, but I love browsing netflix and spotify with the touchscreen. After all, who wants to use a track pad or mouse when their chilling in bed? It's 2019! The sound is impressive. Deep bass, clean mid range, and crisp highs that really punch through. The only thing I'm disappointed about was the hard drive space. Mine clocked in at about 460 GB, instead of the advertised 512 GB. But hey, 50 Gigs is a small price to pay for an otherwise stellar experience.

Love the 4K display

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5This laptop is an upgrade to my HP Envy that is several years old. I am using it primarily for my photography. I wanted a display that would make my photos pop! And it does just that! The Battery is a 6 cell and it seems to later a lot longer that my Envy. The only cons that I have found so far, is that it only has 1 USB port. It also only has a micro SD card slot. I had to buy a Type C SD Card Adapter. The speakers are far better than the ones on my Envy. The sound quality is amazing. I got the on the Black Friday early access. And I am not disappointed!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I’ve had my laptop for about a month now and it’s amazing. The screen quality is 100% clear, vivid and bright. With its lightening speed internet access and touch screen is so convenient and easy to use. I love the sleek design and the 360* flip screen comes in handy. Overall this is a great laptop and it works amazing with a ton of Storage & Ram. I would definitely recommend this HP Spectre to anyone looking for a laptop that can do it all!

Amazing product....

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Got it for $1099 during Thanksgiving sale 2019. I am a person who always evaluates the product in terms of value for money. In 2011 I bought my first laptop Dell which lasted till 2019 and in 2019, I realized it is time to move on in terms of technology, speed, memory and processing. This product simply personifies what VALUE FOR MONEY means. 4 years down the line it won't feel old, has enough power and processing for heavy stuff gaming etc and can be used in tab mode. My daughter can use it as per her educational needs. Looks really solid and is future-ready. Great product.....

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Been seeking a top-end laptop for business & communications & accounting tax & this is it. Top-of-line processor, plenty of memory. Screen is beautiful. Light, portable. I have a USB-C docking station w/ large monitor and integration + video is seamless. You get a lot of bang for the buck. Only real weakness is the webcam is pretty poor quality relative to a cell phone camera, but that's literally it. There's no reason to hesitate.

Q: QuestionWhat’s the difference between this piece and another one with the same specs but the finish is dark ash silver ( no sandblasted anodized)?
Asked by Midsummer.
- A:Answer If you mean the difference between this (15-DF1033DX) and the 15-DF0033DX then this one has this year's latest 10th generation Intel processor (Core i7-10510U). That other one has the older 8th generation Core i7-8565U. This one has Intel UHD Graphics 630 and that other one has Intel UHD Graphics 620. This one has the new WiFi 6 and that other one doesn't.

Q: QuestionDoes this come with the stylus
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, bought it today. Comes with a laptop case aswell.

Q: QuestionIm seeing some people are saying that this comes with case and a pen. Where does it say that, because I dont see anything about either one being included.
Asked by Steve.
- A:Answer Both of the previous responses are incorrect. It does come with an active pen - it is in the same part of the packaging as the power adapter. It also comes with a laptop sleeve. The laptop is packed in a box within a box...the sleeve is in the outer box between a couple of sheets of cardboard. Don't throw away your packaging until you find it!

Q: QuestionIs the trackpad Microsoft Precision or still Synaptics used on older models?
Asked by Daniel.

Q: QuestionCan the ram be upgraded or is it soldered on to the motherboard? If it can be upgraded, what is the maximum amount of ram that can be installed? Thanks!!
Asked by Benedict.
- A:Answer The 15-DF1033DX has two SODIMM slots, but they are customer non-accessible/non-upgradeable I'm afraid so you would not be able to upgrade the RAM from the 16 GB that is installed.

Q: QuestionHow bright is the screen in terms of nits and what is the refresh rate?
Asked by LoveMeSomeBestBuy.
- A:Answer according to the ‘from the manufacturer’ at the end of the product page, 340 nits and 72% ntsc. and I GUESS 60 hz because it’s a 4K but just middle end.
