Actually, if you're courageous, and don't mind invalidating your warranty, the memory is upgradeable. I bought an iFixit tool kit at BB and used it to upgrade the memory to 32GB. It took about 20 minutes. The memory upgrade process HP lays out in its repair manual for the 15-DFxxx models is totally valid for the 15-DF1033DX. You can find a link to the repair manual on HP's spec site for the 15-DF1033DX.
