No assembly is not required, it's good to go out of the box, but be aware if you do have it delivered they do not "set it up" for you, i.e. taking it out of the box and placing it where you want it, and hauling off the box. That was my bad experience in purchasing this item as one of the perks I thought I was getting based on the item's delivery information. I was left trying to get it out of the box and be mindful, it is super heavy and awkward to get out cause there is basically nowhere to grip it. And be prepared to have to deal with hauling off the giagantic box yourself. They literally drop it and go...
