It's on sale today (3/1/21) under the Best Buy Deal of the Day section for $999. I don't see a extended warranty or protection plan option. Others have mentioned they would like to see an additional plan for peace of mind.

However your credit/debit card company may extend the manufacturer warranty another year or two. As far as when will it go on sale again..... I put it in my shopping cart and opened the app every day to check. Sometimes you might get notifications if an item in your cart goes on sale.
