Depends on the size of the load. Take a look at your detergent bottle for guidance, but I never use as much as the label says. They just want to sell you more detergent, so I think their guidance is a somewhat self-serving. I usually use less than the packaging says and it works well enough for me. Using too much can make it impossible for the machine to rinse all of the detergent from your clothes, and it wastes money. Good luck

I use the same amount as my previous washer. My old was did not have the detergent dispenser.
