Is the top of this washer made from Plastic or metal? null

The left, right and front of the machine are metal. The top of the machine including control panel, top rim and door are plastic. My machine had a defect in the plastic rim on the right side. They were willing to bring another one out or give me an allowance. I went with the allowance as the defect was in a position where it would not have been easily seen and as far as I can tell all other machine functions worked as planned.
