Will this work in Ireland and convert 220 to 110 null

In theory, yes. Device has a converter and an adapter function that should work with UK and EU plug. Eire and Northern Eire should be covered. However, I used this in London and after two days, it started to work intermittently. It would show that's it's "on" but only pulse electricity. Had to buy a quality device from TUMI to salvage my business trip.
