“on some older tvs I have a 1980 RCA only has the hookup for coax will it work on this one”

• You should be able to connect this digital converter box to your RCA TV. Please see and check the photo diagram. Photo is from the Quick Setup Guide - setup diagram - display the various ways to connect your TV to this converter box.

• Yes It will work because of the coaxial connection. Just connect an antenna (Amplified antenna preferred) to the "In" coaxial and run the other coaxial cable to the tv. After that, complete a channel scan/search on your TV. After that you should be good to go. Hope this helps.
