A:AnswerInsignia has the 3.5mm cord which is easy to plug. The white and red plug goes into the output on the back of your TV and the other goes into the input of the Insignia where your headphones charge. Regarding your DVD and VHS is connected to your TV already there is nothing else to do you will be able to listen; I don't have a VHS connected but I do have my DVD and I also have Netflix on my DVD menu and it works.
