• This product is really onlt for older equipment that onl;y has RCA jacks (red, yellow and white) basically its for using a VCR to a modern TV

• No, if your HDMI ports aren't working. Then how do you expect to use it. It is a backward transmitter. So you use the RCA ports first in the box, then the HDMI cord from the machine to your HDMI port on the tv.
