Hi Ray, Thank you for your question. The Insignia RCA to HDMI Converter (Model NS‑HZ330) is a one‑way converter that takes an analog RCA signal and converts it to HDMI for display on a modern TV. It does not send HDMI audio/video back out through RCA, so it cannot be used to record from a TV to a cassette recorder. Rafay | Insignia Products
