“I have an LG TV with an optical audio output. Due to my situation can I hook my TV's optical audio out to an optical in to rca audio converter and then to your rca in to hdmi out device? Basically the converters would be connected one after the other.”

You can connect your RCA device to the AV input on the converter and use an HDMI cable to hook up the converter into an HDMI input.

This adapter is made to adapt an older vcr, vhs player or cd player to a newer tv which has a hdmi port. The older equipment would have a red, white, and a yellow wire output. Those cable leads would connect to the adapter unit to allow you to connect the other side of the adapter hdmi port to your tv hdmi port.
