If you want your stereo to recieve your TV's sound and play it thru your sound system, this would not be the correct device. This device is for audio/video transfer from a legacy device to an HDMI device. If you want your HDMI TV to have your stereo as a sound output, you will need a device that transfers as an HDMI (ARC) signal to a converter, and the converter to your sound system. You also need to make sure your TV has an HDMI (ARC) output.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you need an optical cord from TV to a splitter that gives you 2 rca cords to go in the audio inputs of the avr. Wish the jagoff at the store would have told me this instead of pushing this 60 dollar unless product on me!
