It might. Originally, when I bought it, I only had the yellow and white RCA ones and it worked fine. However, I just looked up what each goes for and found out that "RCA plugs for composite video (yellow) and stereo audio (white and red)". So, it depends on what you're hooking up. If you don't need to see anything (yellow for video) and just need to have audio then it should work. I'll tell you though that if you need the video part, it's pretty cheap (under $4) online and in stores. Hope this helps you.

Only for sound. Video is delivered via the yellow port/cable. We use it to deliver sound and video from an old Wii console to an HDMI port.
