• Hats actually what I had bought it for, but when I tried to connect it, nothing would transfer over to the screen.

• I don't think so. I think this would connect pre-HDMI style DVD player or game system to a tv with only HDMI inputs. You would want the HDMI to RCA. Direction of signal flow matters, I guess.
