“which side of the reader slot do I put the memory card in as the slot is wider than my card”

Both slots are on the same side. One is above the other.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There should be two slots on the reader. One is for full size SD cards and the other is for micro SD cards. The micro slot which I assume will be what you need is directly under the full size slot.
